Reel and Reverie welcomes pitches that help readers see film and series with fresh attention. We are interested in clear, original ideas rooted in screen storytelling and the experience of watching.
What we welcome
Pitch essays and explainers on film form, series structure, genres, adaptations, or considered viewing. A strong idea has a distinct question, a defined scope, and a reason it matters to viewers beyond a plot summary or rating. Pieces should be readable without specialist training and make room for nuance.
Shape the pitch
Send a working title, a short outline of the central idea, the category it may suit, and a brief description of your approach. Mention any relevant writing experience if you wish, but a credential is not a substitute for a clear idea. Please do not send a complete draft unless requested.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include enough detail for us to understand the piece, but do not attach material containing confidential information. A submission is not a promise of publication, and we may shape an accepted idea with its writer.
